Last week, our entire team was on tour: on our hiking day, we met up for a fun-filled trip through the Bergisches Land region in North Rhine-Westphalia – not far from our headquarters in Bensberg.

Right at the start, the path was quite steep, but once we reached the top, we were rewarded with a wonderful view of the landscape. Thanks to the black and white spotted cows in the fields, you could almost have thought we were in the Allgäu region.

The weather was also on our side. At first, there were a few drops of rain, but then the sky cleared up and we were able to enjoy the pleasant, sunny September weather. We concluded our trip with a meal together at a restaurant in the heart of the Bergisches Land region.

And did you know that the name ‘Bergisches Land’ does not come actually from the mountains, but is named after the historical territory of the Duchy of Berg? This was an eye-opening moment for some of our colleagues.
